Talking About Self Publishing

I've self-published two novels and made a success of both. Here's my perspective on self-publishing, looking past all the negativity and seeing something that authors and readers should be excited about.

A narrated presentation on how to publish your own book. You can do it yourself - save money, keep your royalties and your author rights. These schematics are outlined in great detail with steps that you can follow to make the entire process much easier and a lot less intimidating.

This is part 1 of 2 of a comparison of major Print on Demand (POD) providers: Lightning Source Ingram, CreateSpace, and Lulu. In the video presentation, I discuss the basic pros and cons of each provider on features, quality, costs of getting started, and royalties and profits.

Presented by Matt Werner. ABSTRACT. Self-publishing has become easier today than ever, with the abundance of self-publishing resources like lulu.com, the Google eBookstore, Amazon.com, and vanity presses. Matt also discusses his thoughts on trends in ebooks vs. print books and self-publishing vs. traditional publishing, and gives a short reading from his book. Speaker Bio: Prior to Google, Matt Werner interned at Pearson Higher Education, McSweeney's Publishing. Matt has also worked for UC Berkeley's Bancroft Library and UC Berkeley's Center for Latin American Studies.
